Letter from the Executive Director

Because of you, 2019 was an incredible year for Wonderland Child & Family Services.

Simply put, our work would not be possible without the support from our community.

Whether you joined us as a Wonderland family, donor, volunteer, golfer, or community partner, you helped raise awareness, launch new programs, ultimately inspiring hope for local children and families.

You allowed us to add new programs and partnerships to better serve our families. We’ve been able to hire more therapists and program staff to serve more children and add new community partnerships like Eastside Baby Corner, which provide our families with much needed items like diapers, specialized equipment, formula, and clothes.

Together, we made history as we celebrated Wonderland’s 50th year and launched our groundbreaking Hope RISING Clinic for Prenatal Substance Exposure to help families affected by drugs and alcohol during pregnancy.

Thanks to you, Hope RISING Clinic, the first of its kind in the nation, provides critically needed therapies and mental-health support to children birth to 13 years of age affected by prenatal exposure and provides life-changing support and services for their parents and caregivers.

Here are just some of the advances your support made possible in 2019:

  • Served more families each month with early-intervention services. Your support helped children walk, talk, crawl, eat, process big emotions and meet other developmental milestones while providing support and coaching for their families.
  • Conducted 15 FASD diagnostic clinics, providing relief and answers to families like Laura & Jim’s.
  • Provided ongoing therapies and support services to 49 families at Hope RISING Clinic, helping families begin on a healthier and happier path forward.

We enter a new year excited and committed to making the world a kinder and more compassionate place for children of all abilities and their families. We look forward to our next 50 years and what we can achieve together!

Finally, we want to hear from you this year. We’ll be sending out a survey soon to learn more about you and how you want to partner with us moving forward.

I am so grateful to you—together we are changing the lives of children and families in King and Snohomish counties. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Mary Kirchoff
Executive Director
